Josh serves as the preaching and teaching minister for Otter Creek Church. Josh leads the preaching team and works closely alongside
the elders to implement the vision and mission. He has a heart to
help people connect their experience of being human with the life
and teachings of Jesus.
Josh received his bachelors degree in history from Rochester College
in Rochester, Michigan and did graduate studies at Abilene Christian
University and Lipscomb University where he earned the MDiv. He is
currently a doctoral student at Columbia Seminary studying the
relationship of postmodernism and Christianity. Prior to moving to
Nashville, Graves was the Teaching and Young Adult Minister for
Rochester Church of Christ in Rochester, Michigan, and Adjunct
Professor of Religion at Rochester College. In addition to other
articles and essays, Graves is the author of The Feast: How to Serve
Jesus In a Famished World (Leafwood, 2009).
Here's what is really important: Josh is married to Kara (the
Scottish pronunciation thank-you), the real theologian in the
family. They have one son, Lucas. You can read Josh's blog, learn
