Otter Creek Celebration in Honor of Our Missionaries - Chris and Lena Lovingood |
The Otter Creek Missions Ministry is honored to welcome Chris and Lena Lovingood to the USA as they transition from 11 years of dedicated service in Ukraine to their studies at Abilene Christian University (ACU). There are several ways we would like to invite you to join us in honoring this wonderful couple while they are here in Nashville. Otter Creek Celebration in Honor of Our Missionaries - Chris and Lena Lovingood Mark Your calendars! Sunday, July 29
Bring an entree, casserole or favorite summer recipe to our Pot-Luck Sunday Luncheon. We are asking Life Groups and individuals to attend our Otter Creek welcoming party after Sunday morning services. Please RSVP to Greg Perry (greg@wwyc.org) if your Life Group would like to volunteer to help make this event a success. We look forward to this time of honoring their missionary service and looking forward to blessing their new life here.
Blessing this family on the move
Since Chris and Lena are starting anew, there are lots of things they will need to "set up house" here. We have created gift registries on their behalf based on their current needs at Home Depot Registry and Bed, Bath & Beyond Registry. Please shower them with gift cards, or by ordering online from a registry or providing something that will bless their new home. We will have a gift table set up at the luncheon, but please keep in mind that they will have to transport any gifts you give in person, so we are asking that you use the online registry (which will ship the gift to Abilene) or use gift cards as a way to contribute to this grand welcome.
Special Note: we would like to make you aware that their greatest homecoming need is a dependable car. If you have ideas or know of resources to meet this need, please contact Steve Sherman (steve@ottercreek.org) Greg Perry (greg@wwyc.org). |

Single Professional's trip to England |
Loughborough, UK – October 20-29, 2006 On October 20 of this year, a group of Otter Creekers boarded a plane back to England. This year, eight members of the Singles group were able to go, and we were lucky enough to trick Doug Sanders into coming along for part of the week. Additionally, a young missionary in Scotland traveled down for the week to help us.
We arrived on Saturday, and spent the day getting to know the town and the kids of the church. Sunday we joined the congregation for worship, and kicked off our Holiday Bible Club, or VBS, that evening. Monday through Wednesday mornings we led the HBC with the children of Loughborough, and talked to them about different Bible characters who had done unusual things for the Lord. The theme was “Going Bananas”, and we and the adults created a tropical paradise inside the auditorium. We had used this theme last year, and everyone loved it, so we used it again this year, with different stories....read more |
